About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, compliance, and operational efficiency of our growing fleet. As Fleet Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our vehicles are safe, reliable, and present a positive image of our company. Responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance and Repair: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules, manage repairs, and ensure all vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition, reflecting our commitment to Empower Safety and Create Beauty.
Safety and Compliance: Rigorously enforce all safety regulations, oversee vehicle inspections, maintain accurate records, conduct accident investigations, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, demonstrating our dedication to Empower Safety and Serve Others.
FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) Driver Qualification: Ensure that the company is maintaining compliant driver qualification files and coordinates updates as necessary.
Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors for maintenance, parts, and other fleet-related services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality, in alignment with Live like an owner.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the fleet budget, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings, embodying the principle of Live like an owner.
Vehicle Acquisition and Disposal: Manage the process of acquiring new vehicles and disposing of old ones, ensuring strategic planning and alignment with company needs.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop the fleet maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability, reflecting our value to Love and Grow our People.
Operational Efficiency: Optimize vehicle utilization, track fuel consumption, cultivate an efficient repair network, and implement strategies to improve overall fleet efficiency, contributing to our goal to Compete/Win/Celebrate.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, and safety records, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their operational needs and ensure the fleet effectively supports their requirements, demonstrating our Customer First approach and desire to Serve Others.
Ethical Conduct: Manage all fleet operations with the highest level of integrity and ethical practices, upholding our commitment to Honor God.
Proactive Problem Solving: Apply a Best Effort and Attitude to identify and resolve fleet-related issues promptly and effectively.
Contribute to building a legacy of a well-managed and respected fleet operation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Fleet Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience and relevant certifications may be considered instead of a degree.
Relevant certifications and experience are highly advantageous:
Certified Fleet Manager (CFM): This certification from the NAFA Fleet Management Association demonstrates a high level of expertise in fleet management.
ASE certifications (Automotive Service Excellence): While not specific to fleet management, relevant ASE certifications in areas like medium/heavy-duty truck maintenance can be beneficial.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record: Operation of company vehicles will be required, able to attain DOT clearance to operate vehicles over 10,001 lbs GVWR preferred.
Knowledge and experience with DOT regulations and compliance: We have different classes of vehicles due to the different functions of the departments.
Mechanical Skills: A strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and safety regulations is required.
