Fleet Manager - Home Health - Dallas

The Fleet Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of our Home Health & Hospice vehicle fleet of 800+ units. This role ensures the safe, compliant, cost-effective, and efficient operation of all company vehicles and related programs. The Fleet Manager will develop and enforce fleet policies and procedures, oversee vehicle maintenance and safety, manage relationships with third-party vendors and insurance partners, and collaborate with internal departments to maintain compliance and adherence to budget goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fleet Operations & Maintenance
   
   
   
   1. Lead all aspects of fleet operations, including vehicle acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, and replacement planning.
   
   
   2. Establish, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life.
   
   
   3. Coordinate vehicle repairs and service with internal teams and external vendors, including our third-party fleet management partner.
   
   
   4. Ensure accurate and up-to-date records for titles, registrations, inspections, maintenance history, warranties, and vehicle assignments.
   
   
   
   


2. Policy, Safety & Compliance
   
   
   
   1. Develop, implement, and enforce fleet-related policies including driver use, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (local, state, federal).
   
   
   2. Oversee driver compliance programs, including licensing requirements, certifications, training, and safety performance monitoring.
   
   
   3. Coordinate accident investigation and reporting; work directly with insurance carriers and internal risk/HR teams to manage claims and resolution.
   
   
   4. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal standards.
   
   
   
   


3. Vendor & Insurance Management
   
   
   
   1. Serve as primary point of contact for the third-party fleet management vendor, negotiating service agreements and ensuring performance meets contractual standards.
   
   
   2. Work with insurance providers to manage claims, policy coverage, and risk mitigation strategies.
   
   
   3. Develop strong working relationships with maintenance vendors, parts suppliers, leasing partners, and other external stakeholders.
   
   
   
   


4. Financial & Performance Management
   
   
   
   1. Monitor and control fleet operating costs, including fuel, maintenance, repairs, licensing, and insurance.
   
   
   2. Prepare and present regular reports on fleet performance, cost metrics, utilization trends, and compliance issues to leadership.
   
   
   3. Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to develop and adhere to fleet budgets and cost-reduction initiatives.
   
   
   
   


5. Cross-Department Collaboration
   
   
   
   1. Work closely with internal departments — Nursing, Home Care Services, Human Resources, Safety/Risk, and Finance — to support operational goals and ensure company-wide alignment.
   
   
   2. Provide guidance and training on fleet safety practices and policies to staff and drivers.
   
   
   
   

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in  Business, Logistics, Transportation, or related field (preferred).


• 5+ years of progressive experience in fleet management or related operational leadership; experience with large fleets (500+ vehicles) strongly preferred.
