Fleet Mechanic

S&S Tire of Nashville, TN a leading multi-location regional commercial tire & trailer servicing dealer, is adding multiple experienced Mechanics to their team. 

Within this role you will be operating, repairing, and maintaining our company-owned and leased vehicles. Our fleet includes both gasoline and diesel engines. This position will have a focus on the front end, brakes, and suspension repair. If you are capable of diagnosing and repairing different types of vehicles, you need to apply!

 Key Responsibilities: 

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate solutions
• Repair or replace faulty components and order necessary parts
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems
• Complete routine and preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Accurately document all work performed in accordance with company policies

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as an automotive repair technician, master technician, fleet mechanic or in a related role 
• ASE Certification or Technical/Vocational education in related field is preferred, but not required 
• Basic knowledge of alignment principles
• Steering and suspension repair experience
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electric, and air systems 
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills of both diesel and gas engines 
• Willing and able to work in a shop / warehouse environment
• Lift/move tires (up to 100lbs) with or without equipment, frequent bending and lifting
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts
• At minimum 23 years old, possess a valid, insurable license 
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
