Flex Vehicle Operator

LOCATION: Ann Arbor, MI, United States

WORK ENVIRONMENT: In-person

EXPECTED PAY: 23.00 USD Per Hour

SCHEDULE: Full time (usually 30+ hours/week)

WORK SCHEDULE: Schedule is M-Friday - 8AM-5PM

ASSIGNMENT LENGTH: 6 month rolling contract (no end date)

The IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Has 1-2 years driving 5 hours or more a day Bachelor’s degree in any field; demonstrated communication, analytic, mathematical, and reasoning skills consistent with a BA/BS degree; or previous autonomous testing experience Linux

JOB DESCRIPTION

JH Careers is looking for a Flex Vehicle Operators who are passionate about safety and quality of vehicle development.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving development vehicle platforms on various public and private roads in order to obtain data and troubleshoot technical issues. You will be a valuable contributor, providing necessary feedback to the engineering team in order to advance this cutting-edge technology.

The ideal candidate has prior experience with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), has worked with other AV companies, and is comfortable being in a vehicle up to 8 hours per day.

As a Flex Vehicle Operator, you’ll:

• Maintain a high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicles.
• Consistently demonstrate situational awareness and understanding of the technology in your care and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment.
• Conduct a variety of critical data collections for the engineering teams using complex proprietary software and hardware, and communicate through multiple channels.
• Be self-motivated and demonstrate good judgment that requires minimal supervision throughout the workday in order to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
• Be an ambassador for the technology by communicating professionally and courteously at all times with management, engineers, and members of the public.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and provide training and mentorship to other drivers.
• Maintain, organize, and distribute operational documents to relevant team members.

DAILY TASKS

• Valid US driver’s license with 7+ years driving experience and a clean driving record (DMV record will be obtained)
• Proficient computer skills, including basic troubleshooting with the ability to utilize proprietary tools
• Ability to learn quickly and implement new concepts
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to demonstrate safe driving in all weather conditions, including snow
• Subject to pre-employment drug screening, DMV and criminal checks, and random drug screening
