Flight Ops Training Data Analyst

Job Description

Reports to the Manager of Flight Standards and Training and is responsible for maintaining and reporting pilot training data per FAA regulations and in compliance with company manuals.

Essential Functions:

Coordinates with Vice President/Director of Training and the Manager of Flight Standards and Training to identify reporting requirements.
Responsible for monthly data analytics involving training failures, unsatisfactory training events, and student performance metrics.
Complete data gathering for Flight Operations Training Annual report.
Analyze data to identify and report on negative trends in pilot training.
Leads the transition to a “paperless” work environment as it relates to pilot training and checking.
Develops tools to optimize all training reporting requirements through the use of existing tools or creation of new solutions. This is to include, data for calibration of instructors, electronic grading forms, PRD entries, PRTT tracking and automation.
Using formulas in the FOTM, analyze the current instructor pool and identify needs for additional or fewer instructors.
Develop and maintain pass/fail rates for each training event conducted by MATC.
Provide support for the administration of Computer Based Training.
Responsible for maintaining a current database of Mesa Airlines pilots in the distance learning tools.
Assists Crew Qualifications department with data gathering and reporting needs.
Provides assistance with communicating data to the FAA and assurances that said data is both accurate and timely.
Communicates all data issues or problems to management and makes recommendations for solutions.
Any other tasks as directed by the Vice President of Training or Manager of Flight Standards and Training.
Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, statistics or related field and/or 2-4 years of analytical history
Experience with database querying tools such as Excel, Access, and Microsoft BI
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Previous airline industry experience (Parts 121 or 135)
