Float Medical Assistant

Description

 We seek a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Premier Gastroenterology. As a Float Medical Assistant, you will provide essential support to our providers and clinical staff by performing various duties to care for our patients. The position requires flexibility, as you will float between secondary and primary clinical duties and assist in various tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Patient Check-in & Check-out: Greet and check-in patients, obtain vital signs, and confirm personal and insurance information. Check-out patients and order lab tests, procedures, and diagnostic testing. Educate patients on procedures and testing and provide necessary instructions for their visit.  
• Update Patient Charts: Accurately document patient information, medical and surgical history, and medications in the electronic health record (EHR) system. 
• Diagnostic Procedures: Assist with ordering diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by physicians. 
• Phone Support: Respond to and manage patient voicemail inquiries, answering questions or relaying messages to the appropriate staff members. 
• Administrative Support: Assist with various clinic tasks such as scheduling appointments, scanning, and managing patient records. 

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is a plus. 
• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a healthcare or specialty clinic setting. 
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems. 
• Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
