Floor Technician

We are seeking a Floor Technician to join our community committed to delivering outstanding services to our residents, associates, visitors, and families. What you'll do:

• Cleans, mops and treats floors; strips, waxes and buff floors.


• Mixes, dilutes housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions.


• Vacuums all hallway floors, cleans all carpeted areas using extractions machine.  Treat and clean spills and stains as needed.


• Cleans windows and light fixtures.


• Keeps utility storage rooms and equipment room in good order.


• Empties trash containers located in trash rooms as needed.


• Makes minor repairs and adjustments; replaces light bulbs, repairs clogged sinks, commodes and drains.


• Assists in moving furniture and equipment.


• Maintain cleaning equipment in good order.


• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.


• Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements.  Maintain compliance with all federal and state laws.  Maintain compliance with all agency regulatory guidelines and requirements.

 What you’ll bring:

• Ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English. 


• Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.  Ability to make self clearly understood by others.


• Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.


• Basic knowledge of cleaning requirements and cleaning agents.


• Ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force continuously to move objects.


• Turns, stoops, kneels, crouches, reaches, pushes, pulls, handles, stands, walks over 75% of shift.


• Ability to learn to adjust and operate electric-powered cleaning equipment.  Ability to work with hand tools.


• Ability to make small repairs to plumbing fixtures.


• Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in vicinity and ability to cooperate wand work with other employees.


• Ability to work under close supervision performing routine standardized tasks.


• Ability to comply with Patient rights, all regulatory requirements, and all company policies and procedures as stated now and in the future.
