this could be the position for you. The Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Human Resources, is

looking for two enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a team environment to join the

Department’s Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

& Special Leaves Unit (FSLU). The

FMLA Consultantprovides leave consultations, assist employees in certifying their medical leave requests, and process disability related payroll and benefits. Additionally, the FMLA Consultant will assist in creating and maintaining the unit's policies and procedures.

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I in the FSLU, the FMLA Consultant acts as a technical expert/liaison for all DOJ

regarding FMLA, California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), and any newly legislated leaves such as the

Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) program.

The FMLA Consultant processes disability payroll and benefits in accordance

with bargaining unit contract language.

The FMLA Consultant also works cooperatively with peers and professional staff to meet the needs of program management and employees; exercises good judgment; communicates effectively; and portrays a professional and positive demeanor at all times.

This position is located in the Division of Operations, Office of Human Resources, Payroll and Benefit Services, Family and Medical Leave Act and Special Leaves Unit.
