JOB DESCRIPTION
The FOD Officer will contribute as a team lead and member of a maintenance and operator service group at MCAS Miramar.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain and service mechanical equipment, machinery, and components for Foreign Object Debris (FOD) removal.
• Perform skilled routine maintenance of the FOD removal equipment in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals and guidelines
• Evaluate need for repairs that are beyond routine maintenance level
• Identify parts needed for replacement under routine maintenance or repairs that are outside of warranty
• Work with PCIA management to get orders placed for replacement parts
• Receive in replacement parts
• Perform minor repairs as needed
• Complete all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Operate the FOD removal equipment on a schedule coordinated with the air station
- Load and unload FOD equipment using a forklift
- Ensure availability of necessary equipment required to tow and/or move FOD equipment. Operate the tow vehicles.
- Provide on-site familiarization training, as required, to ensure any new personnel know how to properly operate the FOD equipment and tow vehicles.
• Coordinate with OEMs and/or their designated local, authorized dealers on equipment to be repaired under warranty or major repairs outside the warranty period
• Record failures in PCIA's database
• Handle the packaging and shipment of FOD Removal equipment as it initially comes in, when it needs to go out for warranty or major repair and receipt after return following repair
• Maintain a current list of all FOD removal equipment under PCIA's possession at all times
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• Associates Degree preferred
• Forklift operator certified
• 3-5 years' experience desired
• Mechanical and electrical equipment experience required
• Specific experience working with USMC's support equipment
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance. • Ability to comply with all other requirements as specified within the CIEDA Personnel Policies and Procedures.
