Position Summary:
The Food and Beverage Manager is a vital part of our management team and is responsible for overseeing all Food and Beverage (F&B) activities at the property. This involves setting budgets, bringing on new staff, training them, and making sure they are performing at their best. The F&B Manager will use all skills and insights to ensure guests are always happy and satisfied, sometimes even exceeding their expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides daily management of the Front of House F&B Department
Hires, supervises, and develops bartenders, beverage cart drivers, snack bar attendants, and other employees in the Front of House F&B Department
Conducts training and refresher classes for all Front of House F&B personnel in the correct procedures
Provides daily oversight of Front of House F&B accounting procedures
Manages forecasting and budgets pertaining to F&B operations
Maintains cost controls and conducts a monthly inventory
Implements and maintains F&B sales and marketing programs
Develops and implements marketing programs to increase banquet business
Manages alcohol and beverage ordering; follows the purchase order (PO) buying process
Oversees quality assurance, guest service, and training of all employees
Upholds Troon Food and Beverage policies
Institutes and implements all Troon Human Resources guidelines
Facilitates coordination between all departments
Develops and implements creative strategies to increase revenues
Plans and coordinates special events and functions
Responsible for overall guest satisfaction
Ensures all employees are conducting themselves in a professional manner
Performs daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations
Complies with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire, and other local and state laws
Oversees closing procedures and appropriate cash handling practices
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have one to three years of related experience in F&B management
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws
Must have food and beverage, à la carte, and banquet experience
Must have strong business aptitude
Must have strong service orientation
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
Physical activity including long periods (6–8 hours) of standing, walking, bending, and scooping
The employee will regularly be required to reach with arms and hands
The employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds
Use of sight, reading, and wrist movement to serve meals and beverages, operate food service equipment, and clean food service areas
Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
