Food Bank Director

The Food Bank Director is responsible for overseeing the operations, administration, and management of a food bank organization. Food banks are non-profit organizations that collect, store, and distribute food to individuals and families in need. As a director, you would play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization operates efficiently and effectively to fulfill its mission of alleviating hunger in the community.

Responsibilities:

• Model and cultivate a personal lifestyle of daily encounters with God.
• Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategic plans for the food bank, outlining goals, objectives, and tactics to achieve the organization's mission.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations, including food collection, storage, sorting, and distribution. Ensure that food safety standards are met, and that inventory management is efficient.
• Seek and secure funding from various sources, including grants, donations, and partnerships. Manage the organization's budget, allocate resources appropriately, and ensure financial sustainability.
• Foster relationships with donors, serve team volunteers, partner organizations, and local communities. Develop partnerships with other non-profits, government agencies, and businesses to enhance the reach and impact of the food bank.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers who help with tasks such as food sorting, distribution, and administrative work.
• Track and analyze data related to food distribution, impact, and community needs. Provide regular reports to the board of directors, stakeholders, and funders.
• Spiritually lead and build a team of staff members and volunteers. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure a positive work environment and effective collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and guidelines related to food safety, non-profit operations, and charitable activities.

• Must be a spiritually mature leader who exemplifies the values and vision of Mercy Culture Church.
• 3 to 5 Years Supervisory and Operations experience required (warehouse preferred).
• Strong communication and leadership skills - position requires ability to interact and communicate with staff, volunteers, and community (pantry clients and donors). 
• Knowledge of warehouse safety, storage practices, and inventory management required.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
• Strong organization and time management skills required.
• Able to work as a collaborative team member in delivering customer service.
• Certified in food handling safety standards desired (will provide training if needed).
• Must be able to safely operate forklift and 24' box truck.
• This position requires walking, standing, sitting, and lifting boxes up to 40 lbs., and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

To be employed at Mercy Culture Church, you must be a member of the church or be willing to become a member upon hire.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time with a minimum of 40 hrs a week. Your work schedule will be discussed and could either be Tuesday - Friday with Sunday responsibilities or Monday - Friday. Your work schedule could vary depending on events and conferences. There will need to be some flexibility.
