The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Manager to successfully run the daily operations of the SOUTH PARK and HAVEN locations. In this role, you will oversee all food and beverage operations by leading and delegating within a Lead support team. You’ll build, train, coach, and supervise an exceptional team of baristas, cooks and shift leads. You’ll collaborate with the Management team to define and execute the business strategy and financial targets. You’ll help create a values-driven team environment that brings out the best in your team. Most importantly, you’ll ensure that our team goes above and beyond to make every customer feel welcome and included.
Effectively delegate tasks within the Lead Team to efficiently balance workloads and maximize shop success.
Oversee adequate order pars, reduce waste and maintain freshness of all food, beverage, floral and retail products.
Work with the Leadership team to monitor inventory levels, labor percentages and overall shop profitability.
Create, implement and enforce clear health and safety procedures to Health Department Standards including handling facility repairs.
Maintain product quality and overall Communal brand aesthetic on a grand scale down to the smallest detail.
Create and post schedules in a timely manner that provides adequate coverage of shop needs and accommodates scheduling limitations whenever possible.
Actively screen incoming resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews, schedule shadow shifts to support ongoing staffing demands.
Hire new staff, oversee training, support retention, organize routine reviews, and conduct disciplinary actions or dismissals when appropriate.
Encourages a healthy work environment with clear expectations, frequent communication, and preventive conflict management.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of all menu items, offerings, events, changes and expect the same of all staff members.
Model and inspire excellent customer service and sales practices at all times.

Requirements:
2 year minimum of management experience at a high quality, high volume food service or coffee shop with high customer service standards (Wine experience strongly preferred).
1+ years experience as a barista (strongly preferred).
A college education (preferred).
A proven ability to handle fast paced environments while keeping an eye on excellence.
A Flexible Schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Excellent communication and coaching skills.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, exempt position. The pay for this position ranges between $67,808-70k depending on experience. Benefits include 40 hour annual sick time, 40 hours annual PTO (after 90 days), Health Benefit plan (after 60 days) and 3% matching retirement (after one year). Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) San Diego County.
