Job Purpose

Three Square Food Bank is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food assistance to individuals and families in need across Southern Nevada. Our mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. Through our partnerships and programs, we distribute millions of meals each year and work tirelessly to address the root causes of hunger in our community.

The Food Donor Relationship Officer reports to the Director of Food Sourcing and Relationships and coordinates with the Procurement Manager and Retail Donor team to increase donations from all food industry organizations, including engagement, acquisition, stewardship, and optimization of donor accounts. 

Essential Job Functions

Food Industry Donor Relationship Management

• Research and cultivate new donors within the service area. 
• Ensure proper engagement activities such as visits, communications, recognition programs, and presentations with current, lapsed, and prospective donors to develop rapport and sustain productive relationships, actively soliciting donations of food, packaging materials, and related products.
• Inform the design of and deliver marketing and communication materials for prospects, donors, and agency partners, ensuring alignment with guidelines and approvals processes.
• Contribute to and follow comprehensive standard operating procedures for food rescue and donor stewardship operations.
• Leverage operational knowledge to assess and determine the appropriate level of involvement and commitment for various initiatives.
• Achieve goals focusing on activities and accomplishments related to sourcing and donation strategies.

Collaboration and Partnership

• Work with internal teams (e.g., Warehouse, Transportation, Agency Relations, and Programs) to align food acquisition and sourcing strategies with organizational direction. 
• Appropriately identify and refer opportunities to the Procurement Manager to maximize financial, volunteer, and in-kind support, in addition to food donations.
• Engage Feeding America and other hunger relief agencies to maximize the effectiveness of food sourcing. 

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure activities comply with safety, regulatory, program, and grant requirements, as well as best practices. 
• Track, analyze, and report on selected metrics such as pounds of food acquired, donation categories, and donor engagement, while ensuring the accuracy of MealConnect, food industry and retail donor reporting, and food industry and retail donor databases.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as Three Square’s representative on internal and external committees as needed, ensuring alignment with and promotion of the organization's mission, vision, and values.
• Provide professional, responsive, and appreciative customer service to all neighbors, agency partners, colleagues, board members, prospects, and donors.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Three to five years of relevant experience in food sourcing or account acquisition and management.
• Safe driving record, current vehicle insurance, and ability to use personal vehicle for Three Square business.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

• Computer skills, including creating spreadsheets, developing presentations, and experience with customer relationship management software, inventory management systems such as CERES and MealConnect, or procurement or supply chain management. 

Working Environment

• This position requires working indoors in an office at Three Square and outside, exposed to weather conditions.  
• Requires frequent driving.  
• Occasionally, work outside of normal working hours, such as evenings or weekends, is required.
