The Goodman Community Center offers a variety of programs designed to nourish our community. Our Fritz Food Pantry is committed to supporting those in the community facing food insecurity by providing a safe and welcoming food pantry for all. The pantry is a choice model, meaning customers have choice and say in which foods they select. This position oversees?the operations of the Fritz Food Pantry and works closely with other Goodman staff and with the broad community to ensure our pantry runs smoothly, is stocked, staffed with volunteers, all while creating a welcoming environment. This position will manage 2 part-time staff and numerous volunteers.

Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of operations, consistent with our mission, values, and expectations. Supervise food distributions, donations, and deliveries; order food and maintain appropriate inventory; ensure food is sorted and stored in a safe and sanitary manner and safety and security procedures are followed.
Train and supervise volunteers and communicate and address any concerns to Volunteer Manager as needed.???
Work with the Volunteer Manager and other food pantry staff to help recruit, retain and engage volunteers.
Supervise 2 part-time food pantry staff.
Manage our Retail Rescue program which recovers thousands of pounds of food weekly from retail locations.
Maintain and manage policies and procedures of the food pantry, providing training and feedback to staff and volunteers as necessary.
Manage food drives and donations in coordination with the development team to secure in-kind donations and funding for the pantry and Thanksgiving Baskets.??
Work with Community Partnerships & Events Manager to partner with local businesses and community to implement a creative and sustainable system to ensure an increase in healthy in-kind food donations.?
Work with program kitchen staff in redistribution of resources to avoid food waste.
Continue to minimize waste within the food pantry by practicing inventory control, recycling and composting.
Generate monthly and annual reporting?and manage annual inspections?for funders as required.?
Help to plan and lead quarterly volunteer meetings as well as volunteer training and engagement opportunities
Participate in annual budgeting process and manage approved programs to ensure allowable expenditures are within the budget plan.??
Work closely with non-profit partners such as Second Harvest Food Bank to place orders and oversee deliveries of product.
Communicate with facilities team to ensure all equipment, such as walk in coolers, are in working order and maintained.
Maintain confidential files of pantry customers.?
Manage database of pantry records, currently utilizing Look2Software.
Work with volunteer manager to manage and promote Friends of the Food Pantry program, a community based food drive program.
Work with Goodman Menders to continue to facilitate a free mending program open to the public.
Manage the TEFAP government Commodities program
Ensure compliance is followed for all grants and funding requirements
Additional duties as needed.?
Manage and oversee distribution of Thanksgiving Baskets Program including:?
Work closely with the communication team to manage the registration process for the program.
Work closely with community partner organizations that will distribute food to their participants in partnership with Goodman Center
Work in coordination with Volunteer Manager to identify the volunteering needs:? number of volunteers, tasks, schedules, skills and or physical requirements, training needs, supervision requirements and volunteer recognitions throughout Thanksgiving Basket process.?
Work in collaboration with Development and Communications team to promote Thanksgiving Baskets and communicate with department staff prior to scheduling an event to limit disruptions of day-to-day?activities.?
Partner with local businesses and wholesale distributors to secure turkeys and work food resources to coordinate community food drives to ensure the necessary provisions are acquired for the baskets.?
Track and ensure all inventory needs are met for a successful event
Special Position Requirements:
Position is 40 hours, some hours are predefined. Required to have schedule availability for all scheduled food pantry volunteer shifts; as well as times the pantry is open to the public.
Monday 10am to 12:30pm,
Tuesday 7:00am to 12:30pm
Wednesdays 12pm to 8:30pm
Thursdays 8:45 am to 4pm
Remainder of 40 hours of work week will generally be during M-F 9am to 5pm. With occasional other evening or weekend events, which would be known well in advance.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds?frequently.??
Ability to push equipment up to?600?pounds.?
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.?
Ability to stand for up to 3 hours at a time.
