Our company is comprised of two local families and two generations who are joined together by the same mission of supporting our customers with naturally fresh, kettle cooked foods for retail and food service operations.
With over a decade of experience in fresh food manufacturing, we understand the intricate and delicate balance of taking a recipe and producing it on a grand scale while still maintaining the recipe’s integrity.
We take full advantage of the abundance of local ingredients available to us in Portland to create our soups, chilis, chowders, entrées, sauces, marinades, and puddings also including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options and are looking for someone who relates to our company culture to join the team!
Position Summary:
Ensuring the continuity of the Prep Room and staff. Setting up tasks for other prep workers and making sure they execute their jobs with accuracy and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversees all functions of the Prep Room to ensure continuity
Moving completed prep racks into coolers and checking the racks for accuracy.
Maintain a clean, organized prep room.
Ensure equipment and tools are in proper working order.
Understands and complies consistently with our processes, quality standards and prep, policies, and procedures.
Ensure raw materials are prepped according to recipe specifications.
Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, and refrigeration equipment.
Assist with cleaning, sanitation, organization and maintenance of prep stations and food storage areas adhering to proper food handling and storage standards.
Completes and follows daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy. Follows HACCP guidelines.
Completes all required documentation, reports, logs as required.
Restock all items as needed throughout the shift.
Track inventory.
Train new employees to improve and establish company procedures and operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Lead, mentor and motivate all associates
Constant communication with Manager
Monitor daily work flow, assigning tasks accordingly to associate’s level of training
Be the first point of contact for resolving issues
Be the point person for all training in the department.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Previous related experience in a packaging/manufacturing environment preferred.
Attention to detail is a must.
Supervising and managing people for performance and productivity.
Comfortable with communicating and giving feedback as needed to employees and management.
Demonstrates team management, delegation, issue resolution, coaching skills and ability to motivate others and act as a change agent.
Experience in a dynamic, flexible work environment where organization is a key factor in success.
Must be able to communicate expectations clearly.
Ability to unify a team in a high-volume, high-energy environment.
Communication skills that encourage an environment of openness and professionalism.
Understanding and aptitude for team member and peer development.
Ability to accept and act on feedback.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
