Operating in supermarkets, universities, airports and stadiums, we serve more than 2500 locations across 47 states and the District of Columbia!
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Regional Food Safety Field Inspector to lead the implementation and enforcement of Hissho Sushi’s food safety, sanitation, and quality standards at retail sushi bar locations. This role is responsible for conducting routine inspections, delivering food safety training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across operations.
This position requires frequent regional travel to multiple store locations, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary food safety liaison between our operations team, local regulatory agencies, retail partner and the Food safety and compliance department.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct routine and unannounced food safety, sanitation, and facility audits across regional locations.
· Identify non-compliance issues, develop corrective action plans, and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
· Record inspection data and findings using internal digital platforms; maintain accurate and timely reporting.
· Provide hands-on training to franchise partners, chefs, and staff on food handling, hygiene, storage, and labeling.
· Support store by coordinating with health departments and guiding new teams through food safety setup and inspections.
· Serve as the local point of contact for retail partners, operations tea and interactions with city, county, state, or federal health inspectors and regulatory officials.
· Assist in the development and execution of quality assurance initiatives, SOPs, and continuous improvement strategies.
· Maintain current knowledge of food safety laws, regulations, and emerging issues affecting sushi and ready-to-eat foods.
· Partner with the Quality Assurance and Operations teams to monitor trends, report risks, and implement system-wide improvements.
· Support crisis management activities as needed.
· Promote a proactive food safety culture and champion company values in all field operations.
