Food Safety Manager

Growing Food Manufacturer headquartered in the northwest suburbs of Chicago is seeking a Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager.

This individual will play an integral part of the team and confirm product compliance with all quality standards. This individual will develop the QA program, lead audits and ensure supplier documentation.

Key duties include:
Managing the FSQA Plan including review, verification and investigating and correcting all non-conformances
Supervising the Quality department and delegating tasks as necessary
Leading Food Safety and Hazard analysis team in conducting any hazard analysis
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with BRCGS standards and customer requirements
Act as the primary communicator for all internal and external audits
Investigate reported quality issues and ensure resolution
Manage sanitation to ensure clean manufacturing facilities
Conduct validation studies, vendor and supplier audits
Conduct and assist on external quality auditors in food safety audits and ensure quality and safety policies are in compliance with GMPs
Review existing processes and product specifications to identify the need for improvement

Requirements include:
Experience in Food Safety & Quality
HACCP knowledge
Bachelor's degree is a plus
Certification in SQF, ISO, BRCGS or other GFSI schemes is a plus
