Food Service Director

Our Long-Term Care facility is currently looking for a professional Food Service Director to join our Dietary department.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Director to oversee our food service operations. As the Food Service Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our food service department, including supervising staff, ensuring quality food preparation and service, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a background in catering and food handling.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the food service department, including planning menus, ordering supplies, and managing inventory
- Ensure that all meals are prepared and served in a timely manner, meeting quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate catering services for special events or functions
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints promptly
- Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and expenses
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in food service

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a leadership role within the food service industry
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, dietary requirements, and health and safety regulations
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and customers
- Proven experience in catering for large groups or banquets
- Ability to effectively supervise a team of kitchen staff
- Proficient in computer applications related to food service management
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
