Food Service Lead - Healthcare | Location: Panorama City, CA 91402
Compensation: $18.63-$23 per hour| Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday. Ability to be flexible in terms of scheduling is highly preferred
Job Summary
Join a fast-paced team where great food and great service go hand in hand. As a Food Service Lead, you'll provide hands-on leadership while supporting daily food service operations, mentoring team members, and ensuring exceptional service, food quality, and safety standards. This role combines frontline food service responsibilities with leadership duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example in a dynamic hospitality environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support daily food service operations to ensure efficient, high-quality service and a positive guest experience.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to food service team members.
- Assist with food preparation, meal service, and customer-facing operations as needed.
- Set up and maintain service stations with appropriate supplies and food items throughout meal periods.
- Monitor service quality, food presentation, cleanliness, and adherence to company standards.
- Respond to guest questions, resolve concerns, and promote outstanding customer service.
- Support inventory management, stocking, and ordering processes as directed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures and help maintain operational readiness throughout the day.
- Collaborate with culinary, retail, catering, and service teams to support successful daily operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Food service, hospitality, or retail dining experience preferred.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handler Card preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- In this role, you will spend most of your time in offices, patient care areas, and meetings, but periodic kitchen visits are part of your oversight responsibilities. Therefore, this job involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may also occur in the kitchen area. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
