Food Service Worker

Due to continued growth, Meridian HealthCare in Youngstown, OH is looking to hire both  full-time and part-time Food Service Workers to work at our Judge Joseph Donofrio Center.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

· Prepares a well-balanced and healthy menu each day.

· Follows all requests for special diets in order to assure good patient health.

· Maintains the kitchen area and supplies in a clean, safe and sanitary manner, upholding the standards of all federal, state and local licensure/regulations.

· Ensures that appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, etc.) are in operable condition.

· Places work orders on all appliances as needed.

· Maintains inventory and submits food/beverage orders to supervisor on a weekly basis.

· Receives menus and orders food for other programs.

· Maintains weekly/monthly food menu according to state/agency standards.

· Develops programming to improve life skills of clients (cooking programs).

SCHEDULE FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

This position is working a 4 day work week! Hours are 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays. 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

· Must be able to read and write; follow written and verbal instructions

· Measure and adapt recipes

· Operate a microwave, stove top and oven

· Maintain good personal hygiene and kitchen.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED required. Food Service Safety Certification preferred.

Cooking and dietary experience required.
