Food Service Worker- Salad Bar

Southern Foodservice Management, a national contact food service company, is now looking to hire a Food Service Worker- Salad Bar for our IRS location in Austin, TX.   

• The schedule is Monday – Friday. 
• The pay range is $16.00 - $17.00 per hour.
• Work schedule is 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM

 Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assemble yogurt bar, salad bar. Rotate and stock grab and go cooler.
• Responsible for preparation work of menu items as assigned by Cook I and Cook IIs including but not limited to slicing, dicing, chopping, cutting, rolling, mixing, washing, rinsing, panning, slacking, etc.
• Operate equipment such as slicers, buffalo choppers, and ovens safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for efficiently and proficiently serving customers on the serving lines during meal service times. Must maintain proper flow rate of customers as prescribed by Management.
• Perform simple cooking tasks such as 1 step heating (i.e. scoop and bake cookies) as assigned by Cook I.
• Maintain a clean and organized salad station, following all sanitation and food safety guidelines; both in the FOH and the BOH preparation area.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and fulfilling their needs accurately.
• Follow company policies and procedures to ensure consistency in service and food quality.
• Replenishing food items as required during service, breakdown service areas after the meal period and assisting with general kitchen duties as needed, including caterings, cleaning and dishwashing.

Cleaning Assignment

• Must maintain cleanliness and appearance of service line and areas during meal periods wiping up spills and maintaining a clean and neat appearance.
• Clear service lines and thoroughly clean service lines and areas after meal service.
• Perform other cleaning tasks assigned by Cook I, Shift Leader or Management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in a deli, cafeteria, or food service setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Other Duties and Tasks

• All staff members are also responsible for other duties or tasks that are assigned by the Managers or Supervisors, as a part of any “Job” or “Position” assigned during a normal work schedule. Team members may be assigned to support the meal production, service and cleaning after the meal or the dining facility.
