What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a dedicated Foodservice Business Manager to oversee the operations, sales, and community impact of the foodservice business units at Carey Services, ensuring alignment with Carey Services’ mission of “Turning abilities into opportunities.” In this role, you will establish policies and procedures, manage staff, drive business growth, analyze menus and pricing, and maintain financial health. You will play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive environment while ensuring operational excellence and community engagement.
Position Requirements:
Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Hospitality, or a related field in foodservice preferred. Proven experience in business management, culinary roles, or similar positions may be substituted for degree.
Certification: ServSafe Food Manager Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Schedule: Monday-Friday business hours and flexibility to work other hours as needed.
Compliance: Preferred knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and/or business management.
Ideal Experience, Background & Skills:
Experience with networking, recruiting, staff management, training, and organizing is also preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices and the ability to obtain their ServSafe Food Manager Certification.
Understanding of sales and marketing principles, customer service, and business operations.
Knowledge of managing multiple employees, working in a team or individually.
Strong organizational, planning, problem solving, and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
Innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit to drive sales and business improvements.
As a Foodservice Business Manager, you'll spend your days:
Oversee and Manage Operation of all Foodservice Business Units at Carey Services: Lead all aspects of the foodservice business units, ensuring smooth workflow, effective resource utilization, appropriate staffing, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Staff Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions on culinary techniques, food safety, and customer service, fostering continuous improvement and skill development.
Build Inclusive Teams: Recruit, train, and manage staff in a collaborative and inclusive manner, ensuring alignment with organizational values.
Sales Strategies: Develop and execute targeted sales and marketing initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Cultivate Community Connections: Build partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and customers to promote the foodservice business units.
Champion Inclusivity: Advocate for the value and impact of employing individuals with disabilities within the community, especially in foodservice career paths.
Vocational Training Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, such as the eMPower Academy Manager, Internal Case Coordinators, and Employment Services staff, to design training that prepares individuals for meaningful business and community employment opportunities. Additionally, collaborate with external partners around culinary and foodservice training opportunities for other audiences.
