SY25-26 DeLaSalle Distinguished Teacher Residency 


Position Title: DeLaSalle Distinguished Teacher Residency
Reports To: Principal


Location: Kansas City, MO (Candidates must be willing to relocate to Kansas City, MO)


Contract Term: 10 Months (Academic Year) - payment is spread over 12 months. This residency is bound by a two-year commitment.

About the Residency:


This residency is designed for educators with proven instructional success and a commitment to advancing equity in education. Residents will play a pivotal role in supporting DeLaSalle’s mission to empower students through personalized learning, rigorous instruction, and a collaborative school culture. With up to $24,000 in housing assistance over two years, this program provides the resources and stability to help you thrive personally and professionally while making a lasting impact. Residents will benefit from:




  • Mission-Driven Impact: Join a community focused on equity, diversity, and student success, where your contributions will shape the next generation of leaders.

  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits:

    • Base salary aligned with experience and market benchmarks.

    • Housing assistance: Up to $24,000 over two years (up to $1,000/month).

    • Fully covered single-person medical healthcare, with dependent coverage available.

    • Employer contribution to the Kansas City Public School Retirement System (12% with five-year vesting).

    • Instructional Leadership Team: Take on a stipended role to drive and shape teaching and learning across the school, influencing instructional practices and fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Optimal Teaching Environment: Small class sizes (18:1 student-to-teacher ratio) and the autonomy to innovate in your classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • National Board Certification: Demonstrates advanced teaching expertise, a commitment to continuous improvement, and alignment with the highest standards of professional practice.

  • A valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.

    • Note: Certification from another state, provided the candidate demonstrates eligibility for reciprocity or meets the requirements to obtain Missouri certification within a specified timeframe.



  • A minimum of three years of core subject area teaching experience with demonstrated instructional results.

    • Note: Candidates with significant industry experience and proven expertise in their field, even without formal teaching experience, are also encouraged to apply if they exhibit a strong commitment to education and student success.



  • Experience working in urban education and serving diverse student populations.

  • Familiarity with restorative practices and culturally responsive teaching strategies.



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.

  • An unwavering belief that all students can learn at high levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Experience in partnering with families and caretakers to promote academic success.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
