Foreman - Distribution

The Line Foreman of Distribution supervises crews and coordinates activities for the design and inspection of electrical projects. The Line Foreman position is also responsible for any project work as assigned by the Distribution leadership team.  Understand the electrical systems for each project and establish and enforce ongoing maintenance schedules and procedures and testing programs, schedule repairs, and coordinate shutdowns and installations for their crews.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Dispatch and manage operational crews.


• Coordinate work with each customer and ensure tools and resources are allocated appropriately.


• Communicates with construction contractors regarding issues including safety performance, project scheduling, QA/QC, costs and environmental compliance issues.


• Submit bids for each job promptly.


• Track and monitor all jobs’ productivity and profitability.


• Turn in daily approved work tickets to ensure finance can bill accordingly and payroll can be processed timely.


• Responsible for site visits and assessing job progression with the crews and customers.


• Assists in constructing and wiring electrical high voltage.


• Installs and terminates underground high-voltage cable between vaults, manholes, and pole risers.


• Analyzes voltage recordings, charts, and electric trouble reports to make recommendations on replacing or upgrading transformers, services, or related equipment.


• Determines the equipment, tools, materials, and manpower needed to complete assigned projects.


• Learns job-related material through on-the-job training.


• Works at heights greater than ten feet (example:  in bucket or platform truck) to install equipment or connectors.


• Responsible for inspecting company vehicles, equipment, and trailers to ensure they are always maintained and kept clean.


• Ensure that Job Safety Audits are conducted monthly.


• Collaborate with peers and other managers in different departments.


• Reconcile and rectify any untimely or incorrect invoicing matters with accounting.


• Ensure Line Crews follow all Safety policies and Procedures and meet all training requirements to perform their jobs.


• Ensure monthly safety meetings and meetings are attended.


• Develop and maintain customer satisfaction and retention.


• Train and develop training for employees.


• Must ensure considerable knowledge of the tools, materials, and approved methods used in oil & gas, maintenance, and repair work.


• Must understand occupational hazards and accident prevention methods in assigned areas of responsibility.


• Knowledge of principles of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring systems and ability to apply this knowledge to work problems.


• Comply with all HR and Safety policies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Detailed oriented and analytical.


• Supervisor and management experience.


• Working knowledge of electrical, maintenance, and systems experience.


• Must be able to lift 45 lbs.


• Must be able to work outside, in industrial buildings, and in various weather conditions.

 Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED


• 3+ years of supervisor experience


• 5+years of direct experience in the Energy, Oil & Gas industry.


• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Special Requirements:

• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time required.


• Work variable hours based on customer and company needs.
