Foreman - Linwood (Internal Posting)

Job Title: Foreman – Linwood

Reports To:  Engineering Development Manager

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time 

Supervises: 3-5

The role of the Foreman includes supervising tradesman and journeymen, during the day-to-day operations at Linwood Mining and Minerals. The foreman could address issues, assigns tasks to each employee, communicate all safety issues, produce drawings and quotes, participate in the daily workload, and complete daily time tracking and reporting. 

Position Responsibilities: 

Supervisor – 20%

• Arrive at work on time, prepared to give daily instructions and goals to the team.   


• Conduct job site analyses to identify any safety concerns and work with the leadership team to correct and manage concerns. Provide proper PPE and ensure its correct use.  

• Estimate materials and labor for ongoing projects to increase productivity & meet customer demand. This includes providing a detailed list of materials, tools and consumables at the start of each job. 


• Create blueprints and drawings, as needed.

• Schedule sub-contractors into the main schedule, including tracking hours and giving updated outlooks for milestones to ensure the project is staying on schedule and budget. 

• Complete daily log reports and employee timesheets, along with verifying Global Shop data.   

• Give daily instructions, schedules, and processes to team members. 

• Attend meetings with the general foreman, project managers, and engineers to review blueprints, specifications for projects, needed materials and equipment, the budget, schedule, and manpower. 

• Other duties as assigned by the general manager.  


• Coordinate materials, orders, and deliveries with the main Oertel shop

Working Foreman - 80% 

• Perform Journeyman-level fabrication and manufacturing work daily. 

• Train, or assign training to the team, as needed. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Continuously prioritize safety and quality through organization, attention to detail and procedural compliance. 

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing. 

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team. Good verbal and written communication skills.  

• Maintain a clean work environment.   

Previous Experience & Job Requirements: 

• High school diploma or GED 

• A valid driver's license 

• Certified/accredited sheet metal journeyman or the ability to become one within two months of starting the position.

• 2 years demonstrated success at Oertel Metal Works or other McCarthy-Bush company  

• Leadership Experience with managing a team 

Physical Demands:
