Forge Fine Arts Team’s Purpose Statement:

Forge Choir Teacher + Music Director's Purpose Statement:
To introduce students to the discipline of vocal music through a Christian worldview lens. Through a commitment to musical excellence, students and audiences will develop an understanding of how choral music can affect the world for Christ by revealing His Word, communicating His truth, and glorifying His masterful beauty.
Forge Choir Teacher / Music Director’s Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach and iterate on existing curriculum to support the growth of the Choir program
- Teach two to three Choir classes per semester, as determined by the Head of School and Fine Arts Director
- Provide instruction in vocal technique, ensemble singing, sight-reading, and choral literature
- Collaborate closely with the Band Teacher to plan, organize, and conduct school concerts and performances throughout the school year
- Assist with selection of choral repertoire that reflects excellence in musicality and aligns with Christian values
- Manage production details including rehearsal schedules, music procurement, staging, scheduling and communications to staff and student families
- Coordinate with the Fine Arts Director, Support Staff and AV Team for concert needs and logistics
- Mentor students toward the development of musicality, leadership, and teamwork
- Foster a classroom culture of excellence, worship, and mutual respect
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Music Direct or support with Music Directing of the Spring Musical, as determined by the Fine Arts Director.
Vocal and Musical Coaching
- Train students in proper vocal technique and vocal health
- Teach music theory, ear training, and sight-singing
- Rehearse and refine choral pieces for public performance
- Provide individual or sectional support as needed
Event and Program Support
- Oversee and coordinate details for choral performances, festivals, and community outreach opportunities
- Collaborate with the Fine Arts Director to support school events as needed.
- Accompany or arrange for accompanists as needed
- Support students auditioning for honor choirs or individual vocal competitions, as needed
Measurable Goals:
- Proper and excellent execution and support of all Forge Choir performances
- Progression of musical skills and vocal confidence shown by students
- Fine Arts Director feels supported through the Choir activities
- Review conducted at the end of the year with the Head of School

Position Requirements:
- Passionate relationship with Jesus Christ

- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Knowledge of and/or prior experience with choral music education in schools
- Clear on structure, mission, vision, and goals
- 1-3 Years of Choir Directing or Vocal Instruction experience
- Valid Teaching Licenses in the State of Colorado (Preferred)
- Proficient in various computer software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, etc.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive student information
- The attitude to go above and beyond, to provide service and excellence in each area of Forge Fine Arts
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Highly organized and attention to detail
- Communicate and demonstrate an attitude that is Friendly, Fast, Fluid, and Flexible.
Staff Requirements:
- Be present for all Staff Meetings pertinent to your role, unless sick or on vacation.
- Typically held 1-2x/month on the same day/time to plan accordingly
- Work "All Staff Required" events.
