Forge Music Director's Job Description:

Forge Music Director's Purpose Statement:

To bring glory to God through expression in the fine arts.  As students worship God through the arts, they will discover that He is the ultimate source of creativity in every art form. Our department strives to grow students beyond artistic techniques and talents to see them flourish in expression, communication, and servanthood.

Forge Music Director's Purpose Statement:

To support the Director with pre-production preparation and rehearsal execution as needed, through the duration of the rehearsal process for the Forge Spring Musical 2025. To introduce students to the discipline of music through a Christian worldview lens. Through a commitment to excellence in each facet of a production, students and audiences will develop an understanding of how music can affect the world for Christ by revealing His Word, communicating His truth and glorifying His masterful beauty.

Forge Music Director's Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely with the director to pick out audition materials.


• Work with the director, choreographer, and designers to align music with the overall vision of the production.


• Work closely with the director to strive for a 'Superior' rating in music direction at DCPA'S 2025 Bobby G Awards.


• Auditions and Casting


• Select Musial excerpts from the production to provide a variety of options for students to choose from for auditions. 


• Assist in casting by evaluating actors' vocal abilities and musicality


• *Sometimes suggest adjustments to accommodate cast strengths. (*If success of show is dependent on adjustment)


• Teach music to the cast, focusing on pitch, rhythm, and dynamics. 


• Assist all cast in navigating rehearsal material, including MTI tracks and recorded parts in the Forge Google Drive.


• Work with individual singers, duets, and ensembles to refine their parts; Help the ensemble achieve blend and balance.


• Address diction, harmony, and stylistic nuances. 


• Work closely with the director and choreographer to ensure musicality aligns with character personality, blocking, and choreography.

Position Requirements:

• Passionate relationship with Jesus Christ

• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations


• Knowledge of and/or prior experience with Fine Arts Music within High Schools


• Clear on structure, mission, vision, and goals


• 1-3 Years of Fine Arts Musical experience


• Valid Teaching Licenses in the State of Colorado (Preferred)


• Proficient in various computer software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, etc.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive student information


• The attitude to go above and beyond, to provide service and excellence in each area of admissions at Forge


• Excellent verbal and written communication


• Highly organized and attention to detail


• Ability to multi-task and make decisions regarding medical plans


• Communicate and demonstrate an attitude that is Friendly, Fast, Fluid, and Flexible.
