Forklift Operator / Material Handler -1st shift & 2nd shift

1st shift (6:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) 

2nd shift (3:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.) 

Riverdale Mills Corporation is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator / Material Handler to support our manufacturing operation in Northbridge, Massachusetts.

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently moving raw materials, work in process, finished goods, and other materials throughout our approximately 400,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. This is an active industrial material handling position in a large manufacturing environment.

We are looking for dependable candidates who are experienced operating lift trucks, comfortable working around production equipment, and able to keep materials moving efficiently throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Move raw materials, work in process, finished goods, pallets, coils, and other materials throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Deliver materials to production areas as required.
• Remove completed product from production areas and move it to designated storage or staging locations.
• Load, unload, stage, and relocate materials as needed.
• Support production by ensuring machines and work areas have the materials required to operate efficiently.
• Organize and maintain material storage and staging areas.
• Verify material identification and quantities before moving or staging product.
• Assist with inventory movement and material location accuracy.
• Inspect lift trucks before operation and report mechanical or safety concerns.
• Operate equipment safely around employees, machinery, racks, doorways, and other plant traffic.
• Follow established plant safety procedures and material handling practices.
• Maintain clean and orderly work and storage areas.
• Assist with other general material handling duties as required.

Experience working in a manufacturing plant is preferred, but candidates with strong forklift and material handling experience in warehouse, distribution, construction supply, steel, metalworking, or other industrial environments are also encouraged to apply.

• Previous forklift operating experience strongly preferred.
• Previous material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift in an active industrial environment.
• Good awareness of surroundings and pedestrian safety.
• Ability to accurately identify, move, and stage materials.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work effectively with production, shipping, warehouse, and supervisory personnel.
• Commitment to workplace safety.

Ability to work in a large manufacturing facility and remain active throughout the shift.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment where materials must be moved safely and efficiently between production, storage, and shipping areas.
