Forklift Operator - Urgent Hire

Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a refrigerated environment or port-related logistics.

Strong forklift operating skills, with the ability to safely maneuver and transport goods, including handling of dual pallets and tall, top-heavy loads.

Overview:

• We are seeking a Warehouse Associate/ Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team at a strategically located refrigerated storage facility near the port.
• This job needs someone who is FLEXIBLE. It could be 20 hours a week it could be 50. Some days may be 6 hours another may be 15. All work is dependent upon workload and as ships come in.
• This position demands performing a diverse range of tasks, from handling delicate fruit shipments to maneuvering large vehicles like buses.
• The forklift work is specific and very tall top heavy items like fruit that I have a picture example as well.
• The role is critical to ensuring the efficient flow of goods through our warehouse, which serves as a pivotal link in the global logistics chain.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently load and unload various cargo, including perishable goods and oversized items, from ships to storage areas or transport vehicles.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move goods within the warehouse, ensuring safe and effective handling of items, especially those that are top-heavy or require special attention.
• Conduct inventory management tasks, including stock checks, record-keeping, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory levels.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the warehouse and equipment, adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Support a range of warehouse operations, including order processing, packing, and dispatch, to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Drive semi-trucks with containers on the property to facilitate the efficient movement and placement of goods for shipping or storage.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a refrigerated environment or port-related logistics.
• Strong forklift operating skills, with the ability to safely maneuver and transport goods, including handling of dual pallets and tall, top-heavy loads.
• Ability to drive semi-trucks with containers within warehouse premises, contributing to the internal transport and organization of goods.
• A physical capability to lift and move heavy items and work in a cold storage setting.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, capable of managing various tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
• A commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and regulations, with a focus on maintaining a secure work environment.
