Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Description

 Job Summary

The Material Handler will be responsible for the safe, secure and organized transport of incoming and outgoing material between shipping and production machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport all incoming and outgoing material to and from shipping dock.
• Transport material to and from production machines.
• May need to run a production machine for an average of 1 hour per day due to work load fluctuations.
• Move rolls to and from machines using hand trucks or fork lifts and unload incoming shipments.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a professional, clean and safe work area.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 3-5 years of Manufacturing experience operating sit-down, standup, and manual fork trucks.
• Experience operating standup forklift required.
• Prior certification of forklift operations
• Knowledge of operating dollies, pallet jacks, or other moving equipment.
• Must be flexible, friendly, engaging and proactive.
• The ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
