Job Description - Forklift Operator-Warehouse Phoenix

TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking a Forklift Operator at our Distribution Warehouse in Phoenix, Arizona.  The forklift Operator drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.

  • Move levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of the lifting apparatus

  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting devices

  • Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules

  • Manually load or unload materials on/off pallets, skids, or lifting devices

  • Lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, and replace liquefied gas tanks

  • Perform daily pre-operation inspection of forklifts

  • Conduct inventory of goods/materials and supply workers with materials as needed

  • Sweep and clean designated areas in the office and  warehouse

  • Transport products to and from remote storage areas

  • Other duties may be assigned


 


Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting and/or stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dust and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
