Forklift/ Warehouse Operator - Professional Development Opportunities

Job Summary:

Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating industrial trucks or forklifts to move materials, goods, and products within a warehouse, storage facility, construction site, or other locations. The operator ensures the safe and efficient movement of items, follows proper loading and unloading procedures, and adheres to safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Operate various types of forklifts and industrial trucks, such as counterbalance, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.

• Load and unload materials from trucks, storage areas, or loading docks, following established procedures and safety protocols.

• Transport goods to and from designated locations within the facility using forklifts.

• Inspect and maintain the forklift, including performing pre-shift inspections to ensure proper functioning.

• Organize and secure materials on pallets, racks, or shelves to maintain a tidy and organized work area.

• Properly stack and arrange items to maximize storage space and minimize the risk of damage.

• Collaborate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and managers to fulfill orders, locate items, and manage inventory.

• Follow safety guidelines and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and utilizing seat belts while operating the forklift.

• Report any maintenance or safety issues with the forklift or equipment to the appropriate personnel.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to quality control and security.

• Assist in general warehouse tasks, such as cleaning, restocking, and organizing, as needed.
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid forklift operator certification and experience operating forklifts.

• Knowledge of forklift safety practices and operational procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in order to correctly handle and document materials.

• Good communication skills to interact with team members and follow instructions.

• Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, able to lift more than 50 pounds with a buddy lifting technique or machinery.

• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.

• Comfortable working in various weather conditions if the job involves outdoor operations.

• Agility and coordination to operate a forklift safely in tight spaces and around obstacles.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8am to 5:30pm

Payrate:

$17 an hour
