Formulator III

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Formulator III to join our R&D team, with a focus on developing advanced dietary supplements and functional food formulations. This position is ideal for someone with a strong scientific background, including 5+ years of formulation experience and expertise in food science, nutraceuticals, or pharmaceutical applications. A Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field is strongly preferred.

What you'll do:

• Lead formulation development for complex dietary supplements and functional foods (powders, capsules, tablets, bars, etc.)
• Conduct ingredient research, testing, and prototyping to deliver innovative, science-backed products
• Optimize formulation for stability, taste, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Marketing) to bring concepts to market
• Prepare technical documentation, including MMRs, COAs, and product specifications
• Stay up to date with industry trends, novel ingredients, and regulatory changes
• Mentor junior formulators and technicians as needed

What you'll bring to the table:

• Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (Master’s with exceptional experience may be considered)
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on formulation experience in dietary supplements, food, or pharmaceutical industries
• Deep understanding of ingredient functionality, delivery systems, and product shelf life
• Familiarity with GMP and FDA/DSHEA regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

• Development of food-based products (bars, powders, beverages, etc.)
• Experience with clean label and natural ingredient formulations
• Background in clinical or scientific substantiation of product claims
