PLACEMENT SUPERVISOR - THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced child welfare professional to serve as Placement Supervisor for our Therapeutic Foster Care program. This role requires an autonomous professional who can navigate complex systems, build strategic partnerships, and coordinate critical placements while providing leadership to our case management team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Supervision
- Provide direct supervision, training, and support to case managers and program specialists
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement corrective action plans as needed
- Serve as first-line crisis response and problem-solving support for team members
Placement Coordination & Community Relations
- Coordinate foster care placements ensuring compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations
- Complete Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) studies and home certifications
- Negotiate foster care rates and case management agreements with Department of Human Services
- Represent Ariel Clinical Services as liaison to community partners and state agencies
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with referral sources and service providers
Program Operations
- Assist Program Manager with recruitment, screening, and training of prospective foster families
- Complete monthly reports and participate in peer review processes
- Ensure program quality assurance and contribute to program development initiatives
- Maintain knowledge of financial operations and assist with budget management
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience (State Requirements - Non-Negotiable)
- Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences AND three (3) years of child placement experience obtained after degree completion
- OR Master's degree in social or behavioral sciences AND one (1) year of child placement experience
- Experience must demonstrate direct involvement in child welfare, foster care placements, or child protective services

- Strong crisis intervention and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for individual and group settings
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships across multiple agencies
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing priorities and urgent situations
- Competency in navigating complex regulatory environments and compliance requirements
Required Certifications/Licenses
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certification within 30 days
- Willingness to complete SAFE Certification, Informed Supervision training, and CORE training
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MSW, LCSW, or LSW credentials
- Current SAFE Certification
- Previous child welfare supervision experience
- Master's degree with three years in child/family services

Base Compensation: $24.75-$26.98/hour ($51,480-$56,118 annually)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires moderate to high travel (30-90%) throughout the community served. Daily driving requirements depending on field visit needs. Work involves exposure to various environments and occasional crisis situations requiring physical and emotional resilience.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
All candidates must successfully complete comprehensive background screening including child abuse registry, criminal background investigations (CBI, FBI), sex offender registry checks, reference verification, driving record review, and employment eligibility verification.
