Founding Electrical Engineer

I'm working with a pre-seed hardware and AI company in Detroit rebuilding how data centres get their power.

As AI workloads explode, the industry is moving from AC to 800V DC, and this team is building the intelligent DC power distribution to make that happen.

The founder has 15 years in energy investing and deep relationships with the hyperscalers who'll buy it.

What you'll do

You'll take early lab prototypes and turn them into alpha hardware for the first design partners. You'll design 800V-class power conversion and switching with SiC, simulate in SPICE or PLECS, lead bring-up and debugging in the lab, and use AI tools to move faster through every design cycle.

Who we're looking for

• Power electronics, hardware or electrical engineers with 2+ years taking hardware from prototype to validated system.


• Gate-driver design for fast-switching architectures is essential.


• EV, EV charging, solar or battery storage experience is a bonus, and so are side projects like Formula SAE.


• You already use AI agents and models in how you engineer.
