The Opportunity:

Our Client is looking for a Founding Member of Technical Staff with a background in systems engineering (esp. Rust).

Why not engineer? Were not going to make a distinction between engineers and researchers to encourage people to have cross-functional scope and impact. Our CTO has a PhD in reinforcement learning but also writes infrastructure code in Rust.

Our model gateway, written in Rust, is the backbone of the project. As a preview, if you joined today, you'd work on features ranging from inference-time optimizations (e.g. dynamic in-context learning) to advanced experimentation ("built-in Statsig").

We are looking for:

• Strong technical background Youve tackled hard technical problems. Youre comfortable driving large projects from inception to deployment.
• Background in back-end / systems SWE Youll complement the team with a strong background and technical leadership (esp. Rust).
• Hungry for personal growth There are no speed limits at TensorZero. Youre excited about learning and contributing across the stack.
• In-person in NYC We work in-person five days a week in NYC. We work hard and obsess about the craft but maintain and encourage a healthy lifestyle with a long-term mindset.
