Foundry Supervisor, Molding - 1st Shift

Description

This position directs mold and core operations, ensuring safety and quality, while meeting or exceeding favorably to the operating budget of the department. This position contributes to the objective by ensuring that all operating procedures are followed precisely. Candidates must be willing to perform the necessary “hands on” work to get the job done, as well as supervising the employees in areas assigned.   This position is responsible for ensuring that proper molding practices are followed and managing inventory control and quality. This position shall also oversee the start of the melt and pour operation to ensure all procedures are followed to the letter.  This position is responsible for the safety practices of the department and for managing the 1st shift staff including hiring, training and creating a motivating environment geared toward our safety culture. The candidate should be willing and capable of taking a vision (goal) and creating an organization that can attain those goals.

Requirements

Candidates must possess:

1. Excellent communication and organizational skills along with demonstrated problem solving and leadership abilities.
2. Knowledge of foundry molding operations/equipment (specifically a background in No-Bake Molding) 
3. a technical education in a related field would be helpful.  
4. Experience with melt and pour operations in the foundry is a plus. 
5. Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience is required.  
6. Candidate should be experienced in working independently and as a member of a team to meet deadlines and improve their department with solid leadership and communication skills.
