Summary/objective

We are seeking a Foundry Foreman who is responsible for supervising the production activities within the Foundry.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Clean and smooth molds, cores, and core boxes, and repair surface imperfections.

-Clean production equipment.

-Move and position workpieces such as mold sections, patterns, and bottom boards, using cranes, or signal others to move workpieces.

-Tend to machine that bond cope and drag together to form completed shell molds.

-Remove workpieces from molds.

-Pour molten metal into molds, manually or using crane ladles.

-Identify and address defects or issues in the casting process, and implement corrective actions as necessary

-Ensure that all foundry equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.

-Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.

-Adhere to safety procedures and protocols, including wearing protective gear and ensuring a safe work environment to prevent injuries and accidents.

- Adhere to safety protocols to manage risks associated with elevated temperature and heavy material.

Requirements

Education And Experience

- High School Diploma or equivalent 

- 4-5 years of foundry molding experience, preferred

- Knowledge of foundry equipment, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.

-Ability to use forklifts, wrenches, grinders, drills, bandsaws, and cutoff wheel

Work Environment

- Industrial setting

- Collaborative work environment.

- Exposure to loud noises.

-Exposure to elevated temperatures

- Exposure to hazardous equipment.

- Required use of proper safety equipment (e.g., steel-toed boots, safety glasses) and adherence to safety procedures.

-Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

- Coachable and receptive to firsthand training from experienced team members.

- Maintain a cheerful outlook and professional, courteous relationships with co-workers.

- Consistent attendance record with a willingness to work overtime as needed.

-Team player, positive & engaged contributor to the team, willing to learn & adapt to business needs

-Ability to prioritize tasks.

-Ability to teach new team members the basics of foundry work.

Physical Requirements

-Ability to lift to fifty pounds.

-Capability to stand for extended periods.

-Walking, bending, kneeling 

-Work in hot and cold temperatures
