Job Description - Franchise Business Consultant


Operational Field Leader (OFL) / Franchise Business Consultant (FBC)

Sparkle Grooming Corp.

The Role

Sparkle Grooming Corp. is seeking an Operational Field Leader (OFL) to own field execution across our growing franchise system. This role is responsible for ensuring salons open on time, operate to standard, and deliver consistent, safe, and exceptional experiences for pets, clients, and franchisees.

The OFL is a hands-on operator and coach who works directly with franchisees and salon leaders to drive compliance to Sparkle’s operating standards while building strong, trust-based partnerships. You will be a critical link between corporate strategy and in-salon execution—translating standards into daily practice and holding the line when needed to protect the brand.

This role requires comfort balancing support and accountability, delivering direct feedback with empathy, and operating effectively in fast-paced, multi-unit environments.

What You’ll Own

Field Execution & Standards

  • Own execution of Sparkle’s DOG standards (Delight the Client, Operational Excellence, Grow the Business) across assigned salons.
  • Ensure all new and existing salons operate consistently, safely, and in alignment with brand expectations.
  • Conduct regular in-salon visits, audits, and assessments; identify gaps and drive corrective action.
  • Partner with franchisees to address underperformance and escalate issues when standards are not met.

New Salon Openings

  • Lead franchisees through the salon opening process, ensuring readiness across operations, staffing, training, and safety.
  • Support opening-week execution and early-stage stabilization to set salons up for long-term success.
  • Serve as the primary field leader during openings, coordinating with internal teams as needed.

Coaching & Development

  • Coach franchisees and salon leaders on operations, business performance, and service execution.
  • Deliver hands-on training and in-the-moment feedback to improve consistency, efficiency, and client experience.
  • Help franchisees understand the “why” behind standards while maintaining clear expectations.

Safety & Quality

  • Ensure adherence to all pet and team safety protocols.
  • Identify risks proactively and work with franchisees to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Reinforce best practices that protect pets, teams, and the Sparkle brand.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as a conduit between the field and corporate teams, surfacing insights, trends, and opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to refine standards, training, and processes based on real-world field experience.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Sparkle’s operating playbooks and tools.
 

What Success Looks Like

  • Salons consistently meet or exceed DOG standards.
  • New locations open on time and operate to standard from day one.
  • Franchisees feel supported, coached, and clearly accountable.
  • Operational issues are identified early and resolved effectively.
  • Sparkle delivers a consistent, high-quality experience across every location.
 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of multi-unit operations leadership experience; franchise experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to coach, influence, and hold operators accountable without direct authority.
  • Experience supporting unit openings and/or rapid operational scaling.
  • Strong business acumen, including comfort reviewing performance metrics and identifying operational opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, direct, and empathetic.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities across a distributed field.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to support field locations.
  • Passion for pets and commitment to safe, high-quality care.
  • Membership or recurring-revenue model experience is a plus.
  • This is not a remote position.
