We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Supervisor to oversee all aspects of our packaging and printing operations. This role requires deep technical and leadership expertise in flexographic and offset printing, shrink film and label production, and folding carton manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing production environments equipped with Heidelberg offset presses, flexographic presses, die-cutters and folder gluers. This role involves leading cross-functional teams across converting, printing, finishing, prepress, logistics, and maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency, adherence to quality standards (ISO, GMP), and a culture centered on safety and team engagement. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Plant Superintendent will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, maximizing equipment utilization, and meeting production KPIs in a high-volume, high-mix packaging environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor plant teams across printing (including flexo), converting, folding cartons, and labeling operations.
- Partner with Scheduling to coordinate production, meeting OTTP (98%) and OTIF (95%) targets.
- Monitor and improve KPIs: uptime, downtime, waste, throughput, and setup times.
- Drive process improvements to maximize output in film, shrink, flexo, and carton production areas.
- Align supply chain planning with production schedules and raw material needs.
- Evaluate and implement equipment upgrades, modernization, or automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with Quality to ensure adherence to GMP, ISO, and food safety standards.
- Report plant performance, risks, and improvement plans to executive leadership.
- Support strategic initiatives, budget adherence, and long-term operational goals.Qualifications:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in printing and packaging, with strong background in flexo, shrink, film, and folding carton manufacturing.
- Expertise with Heidelberg offset printing systems and related equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with folder-gluers, tray formers, roll sheeting, and die-cutters.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and KPI management.
- Knowledge of ISO, GMP, AIB/BRC, and quality/safety compliance frameworks.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and plant data analysis tools.Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and airborne particles.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
