Job Description - Freight Forwarding Sales Executive

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Forwarding Sales Executive to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business and expanding our market share within the freight forwarding industry. You will leverage your existing network and develop new relationships to identify and secure profitable opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of freight brokerage, logistics, specialized freight, and ground transportation, coupled with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the freight forwarding market.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets, focusing on revenue growth and market penetration.
  • Solution Selling: Analyze clients' supply chain challenges and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions leveraging our comprehensive suite of freight forwarding services.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Accurately track sales activities, pipeline, and performance metrics, providing regular reports and forecasts to management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations, customer service, and other internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Presentations & Proposals: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients, showcasing our value proposition.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Effectively negotiate rates and contracts with clients, ensuring profitability and mutually beneficial agreements.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of proven sales success in freight brokerage, logistics, freight forwarding, specialized freight, or ground transportation.
  • Results-driven mindset with a track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Highly organized and proactive, capable of managing multiple client interactions efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop solutions for complex supply chain challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily local travel to visit clients.
  • Ability to travel overnight for 1-2 meetings per year.
