Freight Manager / Sales Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE:

Under the general supervision of the Director of College Stores, the Freight Manager/Sales Supervisor is principally responsible for receiving shipments from vendors, checking, delivering freight, and signing off on the appropriate paperwork. As the Sales Supervisor, this position will be responsible for managing the sales floor, assisting with new employee training, preparing deposits, managing online orders, assisting with Beautique, and opening and closing stores when needed. 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Receive shipments from vendors.


• Ensure the correct packages are received by verifying packages according to order and invoice quantity, notifying the driver and management of any discrepancies identified.


• Inspect outside of boxes and contents of suspect boxes to ensure they are not damaged.  If damaged, bring to the attention of the truck driver and management.


• Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments.


• Ensure packing slips are delivered to management.


• Record deliveries and deliver them to their designated places and departments.


• Stock shipments appropriately.


• Ensure damaged products are set aside for manager’s review.


• Assist in inventory control as needed by management.


• Assist with annual inventory.


• Label products when needed.


• Stock products in an organized manner.


• Ensure receiving freight room is clear of all debris and walkways are unobstructed daily.


• Keep freight room floors clean by sweeping and mopping as needed.


• Take trash to dumpsters daily.


• Break down boxes and remove them from building.


• Make sure golf cart key is secured and charger is plugged in at the end of each day. 


• Post merchandise to website.


• Make sure online orders are filled and ready for shipment.


• Work outside events such as graduations, football games, buy backs, etc….


• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.


• Assist on the sales floor with students. 


• Open and close stores. 


• Assist with Beautique.


• Assist with employee training. 


• Prepare deposits and reports.


• Prepare quotes for departments.


• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Basic math and recording abilities.


• Excellent organizational skills.

• Detail oriented.


• Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs. on a regular basis.


• Must be a team player.


• Must have dependable transportation.


• Must maintain neat and clean appearance.


• Must be able to work with little supervision.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.


• Two (2) years’ experience in a receiving clerk or similar position.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.


• Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.

SALARY:  $30,710. annually (this is a 12 month position to be paid over 12 months)
