Job Description - Front Desk Agent

The Bostonian is seeking a dynamic and personable Front Desk Agent to join our exceptional team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will be instrumental in delivering a memorable experience that sets the tone for their stay. Your responsibilities will include welcoming guests at check-in, assisting with their inquiries, and ensuring a smooth check-out process.

Your role is essential to maintaining the high standards of hospitality our hotel is known for. You will handle bookings, manage reservations, and provide information about hotel services and local attractions. Our ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Status: Full-Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests warmly during check-in and check-out processes.
  • Manage reservations and address inquiries regarding room availability and hotel services.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Provide accurate information to guests about hotel amenities and nearby attractions.
  • Maintain detailed records of guest interactions and transactions.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure room readiness and guest satisfaction.
  • Perform end-of-day reconciliation and ensure accurate cash handling.
  • Assist with special requests and accommodate guests' needs as necessary.
  • Promote a secure environment for guests by following hotel safety and security protocols.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Opera Software experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in hospitality or relevant field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a front desk role or customer service position preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • A flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to providing outstanding guest service.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team.
