Job Description - FRONT DESK GUEST SERVICES

Position Description-Front Desk Person

Position Summary- As a Front Desk Person at The Inn at Middleton Place, you will be the first point of contact for our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all guests receive a warm and efficient check-in and check-out experience. You will handle reservations, address guest inquiries and concerns, and provide exceptional customer service to enhance our guests' stay. 

Reports to: Desk Manager FLSA Status: Full time Non-Exempt

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel property management systems is an advantage.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • You must be capable of a large amount of standing, walking, climbing of stairs, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Guest Check-In/Check-Out: Efficiently check guests in and out of the hotel, including handling reservations, processing payments, and providing room keys.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving complaints, and offering information about hotel amenities, Middleton Place National Historic Landmark and local attractions.
  • Reservation Management: Manage and update room reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the hotel’s property management system.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other hotel departments to ensure guest needs are met and issues are promptly addressed.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of the hotel by following established procedures, including monitoring guest access and responding to emergencies.
  • Upselling: Promote hotel services and amenities and make recommendations for local dining and entertainment options to enhance the guest experience.
