Job Title: Front Office Receptionist - Hickory Viewmont
Job Summary:
The Front Office Receptionist at our Hickory Viewmont location is responsible for accurately registering patients and managing appointment schedules using medical systems. This role includes verifying patient insurance coverage and providing exceptional customer service to physicians, patients, and other medical staff while adhering to established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome patients and visitors in person or on the phone, addressing inquiries or redirecting as necessary.
Document patient arrivals in the Practice Management System (EMR).
Identify patients by their date of birth and name, creating new accounts for those not already in the system.
Prepare all necessary patient paperwork prior to their appointments.
Contact patients who missed appointments to reschedule and update records accordingly.
Schedule appointments to enhance patient satisfaction, optimize provider time, and improve treatment room utilization.
Assist in emergency situations by responding quickly to patients in distress.
Maintain updated patient information in the Practice Management System (EMR) as needed.
Verify insurance eligibility and assign correct payer types; inform the Billing Department if prior authorization is required.
Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming.
Collect patient copays and balances at check-in/out while ensuring confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Adhere to all operational policies and procedures, reporting changes as necessary.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing additional tasks as needed.
Deliver superior customer service consistently.
Answer phone calls promptly and courteously.
Communicate with patients, visitors, providers, and team members professionally and positively.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare office preferred.
