Orchard is a technology company in the marketplace lending space. We’re looking for exceptional front-end developers with a passion for solving new problems. You’ll have the opportunity to build applications from the ground up, have code ownership and eventually open-source impressive contributions.  

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the development of new highly-responsive, web-based user interface components and modules using AngularJS.
• Construct visualizations that are able to smoothly and accurately depict vast amounts of data in an industry-leading marketplace lending analytics portal.
• Work seamlessly with the rest of the engineering team (e.g. back-end & technical).
• Work with product team and graphic designers to understand user interactions and iteratively build new customer-facing features.
• Develop a flexible and well-structured front-end architecture, along with the APIs to support it.
• Iterate quickly based on customer and internal feedback.

• Engineering or Computer Science Background preferred with extremely strong fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, and design patterns)
• Experience architecting, implementing, and interacting with RESTful JSON APIs
• Experience with frontend technologies like Javascript, AngularJS, jQuery, CSS, Sass, Bootstrap and D3
• Comfortable with Git and GitHub
• Experience in data visualization and interaction is a major plus!
• An eye for good design and obsession with making things simple & efficient
• Experience with functional programming - our entire backend is Scala and we strive to use functional programming techniques on our front end as well!
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional team worker
