Job Description:
Shift Leaders report directly to their respective Director (FOH, BOH, etc). The Shift Leader ensures that shifts run smoothly. They will lead shifts, oversee daily operational tasks (checklists), form lineups, manage team member issues, open and/or close the restaurant efficiently and assist their Director in accomplishing goals established by the leadership team. Shift Leaders may have an area of focus (hospitality, drive-thru, etc.) to increase their leadership and impact within the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create lineups for each shift.
- Certify completion of checklists (opening, transition, daily and weekly cleaning, closing).
- Handle team member issues (call outs, discipline, rewards, etc).
- Lead opening or closing of the restaurant with no other leader present.
- Ensure shifts run smoothly.
- Communicate any pertinent information to team members working on shift.
- Excel in all team member positions.
- Help maintain labor goals, adjusting shifts as necessary in real time.
