In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Case Management
Maintain FSS contract caseload as assigned by Branch Operations Administration.
Screen potential participants for Family Self-Sufficiency program, assist with goal setting. Refer to appropriate agencies and assign/coordinate with primary case manager.
Coach participants and assist with job search, employability skill training and promote increased economic self-sufficiency and financial capability.
Assist with HUD required reports by collecting and posting date.
Housing/Homeownership Counseling
Assist with identifying housing barriers and developing a HUD Action Plan; refer clients to the appropriate resources to achieve their goals.
Maintain Housing Counseling caseload and hourly goals as appropriate.
Complete eligibility screening to appraise participant’s readiness for homeownership.
Depending on program availability, provide one-on-one or group Rental Counseling, Homeless Prevention screening and Pre-Purchase counseling.
Assist with HUD required reports and billings by collecting and posting data to the Outcome Tracker (Client Management System), OnBase, and any other method as assigned.
Coordination of Social Services
Develop and coordinate support systems with appropriate service providers for both FSS and Housing Counseling clients.
Conduct FSS PCC (Program Coordinating Committee) meetings at least two times per year.
Marketing the FSS Program and Housing Counseling Services
Coordinate with Branch Office staff for informational meetings.
Assist Branch Office staff on marketing the FSS program to accomplish maximum client participation with the goal of achieving long-term independence from federal assistance.
Provide training for clients, applicants, service providers and the community about the goals and benefits of the FSS Program and Housing Counseling services.
Other Duties
Assist in evaluating housing programs.
Complete projects as assigned.
Collect, research and assemble data and prepare timely and accurate reports as assigned.
Coordinate with Rental Assistance branch office staff to adhere to policies and procedures to ensure cohesive processing of changes reported by FSS participants.
Personal Development
Under direction of the FSS Supervisor, enhance personal job-related skills and knowledge.
May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Position qualifications required are the following:
3 plus years of experience working with related programs is required.
Knowledge and experience in all the following: case management methods, relationship/family systems, motivational techniques, appropriate community resources for low-income clients and a good working knowledge of how these resources correlate with each other.
Requires the ability to work with confidential client information, interpret complex regulations/policies, communicate effectively, and prepare clear, concise reports based on research.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, clients, social service agencies and the general public.
Degree from an accredited university in a related field is preferred.
