Job Title: FTWO Therapist

About Us: 

God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental/behavioral healthcare provider that specializes in trauma focused care for boys and men of color, ages 5 and up. Grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma, GRO translates research discoveries into evidenced-based treatments for behavior change. 

Position Summary: 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing trauma-informed counseling, cognitive behavior groups, crisis intervention and case management support for adolescents and adults involved in weapon-related offenses. The clinician works collaboratively with external stakeholders (probation officers, attorneys, courts, etc.) to reduce recidivism, promote emotional wellness, and support long-term behavioral change.

This position focuses on helping individuals develop emotional regulation, accountability, healthy coping strategies, problem solving and pro-social decision-making through evidence-based therapeutic interventions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop individualized treatment and intervention plans 
  • Provide individual therapy 
  • Facilitate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) groups 
  • Utilize trauma-informed therapeutic approaches 
  • Utilize the ORAS & OYAS risk assessments throughout course of treatment for progress monitoring 
  • Collaborate with probation officers and community partners as appropriate 
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical progress notes  
  • Provide monthly status reports for all clients
  • Participate in monthly case staffing meetings and multidisciplinary treatment planning 
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed 
  • Assist clients with referrals to community resources including education, employment, housing and substance use treatment 
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment goals as necessary 
  • Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA standards 
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision

  • Proficiency with electronic record keeping and documentation 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field (Masters Preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in community mental health and/or working with diverse populations including individuals involved in the criminal justice system
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care
