Hyzon Motors, a global clean-energy commercial vehicle start-up company, is currently seeking an entry level cell technician of advanced lithium-ion batteries technology for our next generation products manufacturing at Bolingbrook, Illinois. The successful candidate will mainly work on experiments for developing electrodes and electrolyte for lithium-ion including solid-state batteries, assisting to solve the interfacial engineering challenges for lithium-ion and lithium-sulfur batteries. The successful candidate will perform hands on experimental works on making, composites cathode electrode, slurry mixing and coating, battery cell assembling in both coin-type and pouch-type for future manufacturing level products.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on laboratory work to prepare materials for lithium-ion and lithium-sulfur batteries.
- Operating automatic or semi-automatic machines for slurry mixing and coating, battery cell assembling in both pouch-type and coin-type.
- Assisting to carry out electrochemical tests including EIS, CV, GITT, batteries cycling performance testing.
- Perform comprehensive technical support to cell R&D laboratory.
Position Requirements:
- A degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Chemistry, Materials, Mechanical, Physics or related field.
- Familiar with lithium-ion batteries materials is an added advantage.
- Willing to work on wet chemical laboratory and comply with safety regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, motivation to work on R&D experiments.
Preferred Requirements:
- With >1 years of experience on lithium-ion batteries cell technology experimental background is an asset.
- Candidates can support a clear R&D target for projects, batteries testing and data analyzing
- The hands-on experience in organic-inorganic chemistry and materials synthesis, electrochemistry, lithium-ion batteries chemistry, materials, cell assembling, electrochemical analysis or cell cycling test.
